COMPONENET 9
In this component, I created a 3D model of my kiosk design. This design will be what is displayed in pharmacies and what the user will interact with. Throughout this component, I went through several different designs, improving upon each of them.
1ST DESIGN
My very first Solidworks design is this one. A walk-up stand was something I wanted to include since I believed it would draw attention. Due to the fact that it displays private medical information, I also implemented privacy screens.
The issue with this design was that it did not make the user feel welcome. Many people complained that the design was too complicated. Its bulkiness was another issue that was raised. It would be expensive to construct, difficult to maintain, and challenging to utilize in the narrow pharmacy aisle.
At this point, I made the decision to change my design to a compact, less expensive, and include a user-friendly touchscreen.
INSPIRATION
I found inspiration for my kiosk design in our school library. The library has these ipad stands where students can find books on the website. They were small, easy to move, and very inviting to the user.
